Individual counselling can help you through many difficult situations in like, whether it be a desire to better understand yourself, your partner, children, family - or to gain professional support to work through situations such as a divorce, loss, redundancy, and other stressful times.
Equally, relationship counselling can help you to resolve long-standing issues in your marriage or relationship and bring joy back into your life.
I embrace the opportunity to collaborate therapeutically with people, exploring their lives and reflecting on issues together, with the aim of transformation and growth through change. Together we will work towards increased meaning, joy and purpose in one’s life, and fulfilment, connection, and resilience in relationships.
Using compassion, kindness, and sometimes humour, to facilitate this guided-discovery process, I focus on the whole self, lifestyle balance (using Te Whare Tapa Wha) and developing a person’s ability to cope, make new choices, and bring about positive changes in their life. Focusing on the relationship between the client and the therapist, I prioritise providing a safe and non-judgemental environment where people can explore their concerns. I have a warm, positive, and affirmative approach and facilitate collaborating with clients at their own pace in either short term or long-term work.
My specialty is working with couples/relationships, using Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT).
Since my counselling training over thirty years ago, I have worked in government agencies (including prisons), community organisations and my own private practice, honing my skills and knowledge through my work with clients, as well as maintaining regular supervision. I keep up to date with current research and trends by attending seminars and lectures by international experts.
Prior to counselling, I practised as an artist and worked as an art therapist in a variety of situations including rehab centres, prisons, mental health, and intellectual disability facilities.
Qualifications and Training:
No matter how much we love somebody, there are times when our relationships may turn 'pear-shaped', and we find ourselves distanced and estranged. Couples and individuals often seek relationship counselling when communication has broken down, when conflict feels unmanageable, or when emotional closeness has faded.
Campion Counselling offers provides a supportive space to explore relationship dynamics, improve understanding, and rebuild trust—whether you're navigating challenges with a partner, family member, or loved one.
I charge $130 for a session with an individual, and $150 for a session with a couple.
My sessions are 60 minutes long.
I charge a full session if you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice.
I provide workplace Employment Assistance Programme (EAP) through Vitae and Raise, and Professional Supervision for counsellors.
